Vancouver Island Symphony In the Community

Music is life itself... (Louis Armstrong)

“Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to  the  imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything.” (Plato)

“Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.” (Victor Hugo)

And  the  quotation  list goes on and on... Imagine life without music... Ever since our pre- historic ancestors
started singing and whistling, music has been at the heart of human civilizations. Inventing and providing high-quality,
high-energy concerts destined for young audiences has always been a priority in my life. As a child and teenager, I
was lucky enough to be placed early in contact with great music, and other arts; a fact of life which has been
crucial in my development both as an artist and a human being.

At the Vancouver Island Symphony, we strive to do the exact same thing. By helping provide a strong foundation
developing the individual through the arts, we build a set  of  life  tools  that students will be able to use all their lives,
musically or otherwise. Children are born filled with incalculable possibilities music and other arts give wings to these
possibilities, often spark- ing unexpected parts of anyone's imagination.
