Percussion

Conductor: Scott MacInnes
GUEST ARTIST: Vern Griffiths

Percussion superstar Vern Griffiths welcomes the audience into “his house” for a wildly fun, hands‑on percussion adventure. With creativity to spare, and yes, everything including the kitchen sink, using pots & pans, wooden spoons and glass bottles, Vern whips up a kitchen concerto, showing how anyone can make and play instruments at home. The show is interactive, imaginative, and an absolute blast.

What Do
YOU Play?

Conductor & Host: Vern Griffiths

We all love to play – sports, video games, board games – but conductor Vern Griffiths is here to show that playing your instrument is the most fun of all. This interactive musical adventure dives into the orchestra in all its wild, wonderful forms, including instruments you almost never see on a symphony stage!
Join the Vancouver Island Symphony for a lively family concert that blasts you into deep space with the iconic music of Star Wars, then brings you back for a joyful, shake‑it‑off moment inspired by Taylor Swift. Along the way, enjoy musical gems from Beethoven, Vivaldi, Strauss, Bernstein, the Rolling Stones, and more.   So tell us…  what do YOU play?
